Everything was great! Clean, modern, comfortable and very well located. The room was huge, quiet and with a very comfortable balcony. It’s a wonderful place to be pampered and feel comfortable and rested. The staff were incredible - the restaurant staff, the front desk staff and the drivers who drove us round the Ubud area were also so friendly, so kind and so engaging and thoughtful. The breakfasts were bar none the best in the world - a buffet of fruit and veggies and cheese and pastries and then you order the "entree" from the menu that they bring to your table - i had the eggs benedict almost every morning since i could not get over how wonderful it was. The communal pool is a bit of a walk down the mountain which is wonderful if you are young and in good shape - I was with my elderly mother so we stayed in the room that has a backdoor that opens onto a semi private book (i think they are called classic rooms)... these rooms are up by the top of the hotel (the hotel is one of the oldest in Ubud and beckons to old Bali and is truly wonderful and magical) as the hotel sits on a side of a gorge and goes from the top to about half way down the hillside. So if you are not wanting to walk up and down stairs make sure you reserve rooms on the top and I highly recommend the classic suite.

Krasna arhitektura vil, ki so locirane tako, da imaš svojo zasebnost. V sobi sva imela veliko banjo in tus. Postelja je zelo velika in udobna. Zelo zeleno, polno cvetja in orhidej na posestvu. Z bazena je pogled na reko, džunglo in riževa polja. Bogat in okusen zajtrk. Na željo so nama priskrbeli individualno uro joge, ki je bila super. Zelo dobra učiteljica joge v lepi hali ob bazenu.

Amazing hospitality and service from everyone seriously (Aria, Puspa - I cannot recall many names) at all times, the activities were bespoke and surprisingly fun, and the breakfast was so delicious (e.g. eggs benedict, fresh sourdough bread and jamu drinks) and come with an amazing view of the rice paddy fields, which I thought was even better than the paid ones in Ubud. The resort in general was so well designed with lots of greenery and it felt like walking in a nature reserve when you walk around. The villa inside and outside area was very lovely, clean and gave a very relaxing feeling. For the scheduled activities we did Balinese offering class, and for the paid activities we went for the Balinese cooking class, Balinese painting class and half day tour around Ubud - which were all fantastic and great for us as we did not need to plan much. I find the Balinese cooking class activity and the staff particularly outstanding, it was at the Permaculture garden area and we had a short tour of the local produce being grown, fishing for tilapia which was wonderful for kids, and then preparing and cooking 2 dishes, pepes ikan and urap sayur. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable, and they went the extra mile and brought our little one to feed and play with the rabbits during the class. Unfortunately we missed the Jazz evening at the restaurant, but you can see there's plenty of activities in this resort.

Gdas has stolen our hearts from the moment we arrived. We went to Bali for the first time and Gdas really represents the finest of the finest in Bali. We already know for a fact (can you imagine? This is our third day in Bali). The smiles and lovely care on the faces of the Gdas workers gave us a unwritten memory of a second family. From the perfect breakfast to the sweet deserts in our room they surprised us with (every day!), but also the shuttle trips to the Ubud market and the perfect temperature of the bubble bath….. also the Pandan/citrus bath they made in our room….. speechless! Listen to our words: Treat yourself with the best, in Gdas you will find rest. Thanks for this memory Mr Akash and Mrs Jane
