In overall a great hotel for a budget stay.
- Very helpful staff. I was provided a room before the official check-in time (I bet I looked really exhausted), and was provided explanation in English about the hotel amenities. Therere was definitely a care for a visitor wellbeing.
- Well kept room, having everything I needed for a 5-6 days stay. Cleaning staff very profficient and nice.
- Breakfast was good, there was enough choice for some variety and liked some regional sweets.
- Good location (and great if you have a car). It seems a little bit off the old Vila do Conde, but the distance on foot is marely 15 minutes (10 if you walk with my speed). Close enough if you have to visit e.g. municipal auditory or other official venues in the city.
- Other visitors seemed nice and not too loud, it is definitely a hotel chosen by people in transit for a 1-2 day stay, workers and budget tourists. Mostly 30+.
Located next to Ave River in Vila do Conde, this spa hotel features an indoor pool, a hot tub and a sauna. The rooftop terrace features panoramic city and beach views.
This beautiful and charming hotel is harmoniously integrated into the surrounding natural landscape, offering comfortable, modern accommodation off the beaten track.

The dinner was very good (food quality and service).
The "brown" pool was also very welcome after a long hot day of walking.
Boasting city views, Villa Regio provides accommodation with a patio, around 1.5 km from Praia Azul Sul.

The room was quaint and spotless, in a beautiful old building with lovely bright artwork on the walls, an ornate stairwell, lovely host who gave us all the information we needed about the metro, restaurants, shops, etc. The location was perfect, 5 minutes to the metro, 5 minutes to little supermarkets, 10 minutes down to the beautiful beach, warm and close to a beautiful big cathedral-type church.

Vila do Condo upon first sight looks nice. It’s on the river and the square with the flowers is really nice. Once you go out of the square and into the town you see that it is very run down and unkept. The local youths didn’t take kindly to our accompanying teenage football team and on one evening chased a group of them out of town threatening violence towards them. This is one location I will not return to

Vila do Conde is a pretty town on the coast.
Vila do Conde is a pretty town on the coast. Easy to get to from Porto on the Metro. We also had a day out to Povoa de Varzim on the metro which is just a couple of stops away.
Vila do Conde has a few interesting museums relating to its history and development. Lots of opportunities to walk, a number of beaches and plenty of restaurants and bars, a great place for a short break in the sunshine.

The places we liked most in Vila do Conde were: a) the top of the hill with an old monastery and the 16th century aqueduct (2nd longest in Portugal), with a great view of the historic center; b) a truly wonderful restaurant -- REPUBLICA -- at 83 Praca da Republica, both food and service were great, and the interior is very pleasant; and c) within a 3-minute walk from the restaurant the Naval Construction Museum and a replica of a ship outside from the Age of Discoveries.

This is more of a guest house .
This is more of a guest house . It is above a bistro, There was no breakfast and when bistro was closed no one to provide assistance. The location is excellent across the street from the river with access to walk to shore. Staff was friendly and helpful when available. We chose it as it is on the coast north of Porto and close to the airport. Room and bed were small, but comfortable. We stayed only one night so it met our needs. Interesting town to explore.

Great little town, seems to have a lot to offer if you like quiet little towns. Not too built up, nice small town feel to it. We didn't have time to explore much - yet - but will definitely come back
the location was perfect for my needs, easy walking distance to where I needed to be. The room was well appointed, with good facilities. The kettle, toaster and microwave made preparing a simple breakfast or meal easy, although there are many good cafés and restaurants very locally. Alexandra was the perfect host, and speaks very good English. this hidden gem is well worth a visit - I travel regularly to Vila do Conde and although this was my first visit to Eça Agora, it will not be my last
Really friendly hosts that were very welcoming and gave local recommendations. The guesthouse is lovely, really well equipped and comfortable. The garden and balcony are charming, the room was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Breakfast provided as well, a really nice touch. The location is amazing for exploring Vila do Conde or for Camino. Recommend staying here!
We booked this pllace walkong the camino we arrived late inthe afternoon. An hour before a water pipe burst, flooding the entire place. Eventhough everything in the town was booked up they found us a very nice place for the night close by. I hope they get there hotel running again, CUSTOMER CARE and HOSPITALITY is written here with capital letters.
This hotel and the owners are delightful. I was late in arriving due to getting lost while walking. They offered to call a cab (it was a national holiday). They provided good information about the local services. The location is very walkable to the town and points of interest. There is a bakery next door which is nice for breakfast.
Everything about this place was amazing. Calling this a “farmhouse” does it a disservice - it’s a beautiful old estate located just a short drive from the Porto airport. Beautiful grounds, beautiful old house, and the owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and provided exceptional hospitality. Highly recommend!
This hotel was well-priced and centrally located in Vila do Conde. There was a fairly easy walk to two metro stations and a 15 minute walk to the beach. The hotel is very popular with tourists doing thel "Camino" hike that passes through town. Breakfast was plentiful and the person on charge kept the food stocked.
Everything was excellent. Room really luxurious, clean and spacious. Staff very helpful. Location a little bit away from the centre of town. Walkable during the day but needed a taxi at night. Although hotel is on a main road it was very quiet inside and we were not aware of it at all.
There was a problem with Author Guesthouse. The elevator was not working so there was no way to get to our room. The host graciously booked us at a nearby hotel, but it wasn't nearly as nice
The property is located right above a great cafe that also sells bread and pastries. It is right across the street from easy to access beaches and steps away from the river walk.
Cozy room with a good patio, very private yet very central in the lovely town of Vila Do Conde. The restaurant on the ground floor was an extra bonus. Fantastic place.
Fabulous little hotel. Lots of special touches in the room - bottled water, snacks and a kettle. Excellent food In restaurant. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
