The bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly, especially the guys at breakfast. I was staying with my three year old and they were very sweet to her. I'd say the hotel was fine and I'd definitely stay again for a cheaper price. Excellent location for quiet walks on the beach, and beautiful sunsets. But... For the price we paid (almost 200 euro) it wasn't really anything special. Just totally fine.

Beautifully restored in a quiet neighborhood setting. The room was lovely—like a Vermeer painting but with modern, clean amenities. We’d had a cold day visiting Texel and ended it at the Crown in a cozy bed with a hot cup of tea. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented—the service attentive and delightful. A highlight of our trip to the Netherlands. Highly recommend!

I liked the part of the city I managed to see.
I liked the part of the city I managed to see. The reason I came, was because of the Tall Ship Race, so there were a lot of visitors and much of my time was spent related to the Tall Ship Race. I would like to come back to visit when it's a bit more quiet to see the town and surrounding areas.

The city is not as beautiful as the rest of the Netherlands, but it is a port city, probably because of that. It is worth staying here because you can easily get to Texel by ferry from here. Our accommodation was not in the city center, but close to the forest and the sea, in a perfect location for nature lovers. It’s worth checking out the Navy Museum (Marine Museum), not all of which were equally interesting, but the submarine, the ships, the mock-ups and some of the paintings are very special.

Amazing city in North of Holland.
Amazing city in North of Holland. Super nice for a week-end getaway (although too short in my opinion) or a week vacation. Tons to do: bike rides, markets, beaches, walks in the dune. A lot of nice restaurants. A lot of tourists in the summer though. Would recommend off season.

We are well travelled and demanding but this place surpassed all expectations considering it is a 3 star BnB at a very reasonable price. We spent 3 nights in this haven! The hosts were incredibly attentive and so kind. Our room was very spacious and everything was very high quality. Location is fantastic as it is a little outside from downtown Den Helder but easily accessible by bike (or by foot (4km)) and 10 minutes by foot to the sea and a selection of restaurants. Olga also left some food and drinks on my fridge as I arrived after midnight. The care Olga has with her guests, as her sympathy, are priceless! The cottage is super confortable, fully equiped and confortable, decorated with great taste. I totally reccommend staying over :D
