The staff were amazing! Linda on the front desk was so warm and friendly! Nathalia on the dining team was very friendly also but she also spotted that some cups weren’t clean and before anything had to be said to her, took them, apologised and replaced them, she was just so professional! She was also happy to accommodate my picky eating. The housekeeping staff I encountered were very nice also. I found the duvet quite suffocating my first night and when I rang down to reception the next day to request a blanket instead, they were so accommodating and had it sent straight up to me. The staff member who serviced my room was an absolute dote! She was friendly while also remaining professional and I appreciated her compliment of my hair.
The grounds were beautiful to explore and see the dolmen. The pastries at breakfast were lovely and fresh and the mini loafs were so cute and delicious. I was surprised at how good the gym was; usually hotels only have free weights (which I’m not comfortable using) but this one had a range of fixed weight machines. The treadmills also had a fan feature to keep cool whilst on them which was wonderful!
Escape to The Carrickdale for comfort and indulgence on the Cooley Peninsula. It has a leisure centre, a fitness centre and the therapeutic Serenity Spa.

The guest house was easy to find, within walking distance of the town centre, and there was plenty of parking space. We received a warm welcome from our hosts and the room was well appointed, offering everything we needed.

The place is very museum-like, little treasures everywhere. It smells very nice on the hallway. The whole place is sparkling clean and the staff very nice. Also location is very close to train station and 15 min walk to town center. We had breakfast booked, and menu was very diverse (could choose from a menu of irish breakfast, french toast, eggs, porrodge etc), the kitchen staff more than nice and acomodating.

Dundalk in County Louth, the wee county, provided an incredible outpouring of creativity to celebrate Brigid1500. The Northern Lights Light Show in Market Square, the murals and storefronts painted with signs of Spring and Brigid, the cultural production at An Tain Theatre and the County Museum.
We were there for 4 days and we made the Proper Cafe "our cafe". The staff were very welcoming and remembered us and the food was great!
We also took a bus to Carlingford and enjoyed a short hike and great views of Carlingford Lough. Also, the home of Thomas Darcy McGee, and Father of Canadian Confederation.

At St.
At St. Patrics Day there were no free hotel in good price in Dublin. This choice for accomodation was the best choice, only 1 hour from Dublin by train, and found a very nice pansion with polite people.

The Imperial Hotel is a lovely comfortable hotel with very friendly helpful staff. The location of the hotel is very central and the town centre and shopping are just a short stroll from the door. My husband enjoyed a very pleasant evening at the races in Ireland's only all weather racecourse, just a short Taxi ride away, while I browsed and shopped in the nearby Shopping Centre. We dined in the hotel, where the food was excellent. We had a lovely restful two day break, and we plan to return there in the future.

People were very friendly, a lot of greetings while out walking the street on a wet morning, likewise staff in shops all very welcoming, the town could do more to promote it's history and some beautiful surroundings within close proximity, unfortunately there are a lot of derelict or dilapidated buildings around the town. The town also could do with a better range of dining experiences The Spotted Dog was excellent but a few more restaurants at that end of the market would be very welcome.

Dundalk has lots of potential.
Dundalk has lots of potential. Nicely laid out town and looking very well Unfortunately the people of Dundalk don't know the meaning of good customer service, very cold and unwelcoming. We didn't meet a single friendly face in the bars or resteraunts, customer service was NIL!

We stayed at the Carrickdale Hotel.
We stayed at the Carrickdale Hotel. We drove to Newry and did some shopping. Then we went to stunning Carlingford for lunch and more shopping! Back to Blackrock in Dundalk for fish and chips from Roma on the promenade and ice cream at storm in a teacup. Dundalk has beautiful scenic drives and greenway walks and we loved exploring around it.
Con was very welcoming. The area was lovely including the people in the town. Location was only a few minutes drive from Dundalk town and there was a local shop 2 minutes from the apartment. The apartment was so clean and had everything we needed - cereals, milk, pots, microwave, linen, towels etc. Smart TV was a great bonus. Overall a great stay and a great host. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
After doing a lot of hotel breaks we decided on a self catering cottage. An Bothan cottage sounded ideal for what we were looking for - it didn't disappoint!! A gorgeous quaint wee cottage that had modern bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. Catriona the owner had even left us freshly baked wheaten bread and marmalade which was a lovely treat. We adored staying here and will definitely be returning soon.
I stayed at the Glen Gat House in 2018 and was excited to go back this week. One of the best bed and breakfasts I've ever stayed at. It's a charming spacious house with good sized rooms, extremely clean, comfortable and a staff that is both friendly and welcoming. And a wonderful full Irish breakfast included in the beautiful dining room. Highly recommended to anyone traveling in the area!
This is an outstanding b&b. Very friendly hosts, who offered excellent food suggestions, and a considerate staff. The place is immaculately clean and a comfy place to relax after a day of travel. And the best breakfast in the morning. The best in Ireland, after three weeks of travel. They have operated this b&b for decades and the positives show.
Friendly welcome on arrival. Super clean, spacious and comfortable room. Lovely dinner in the restaurant. Best breakfast at any of the hotels we stayed in whilst touring Ireland. Special mention to the breakfast team who worked very hard, constant attention to filling up the buffet, clearing tables etc, well done!
Carrickdale Hotel and Spa is a beautiful hotel. The gardens are stunning and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. My friend and I got a massage at the Serenity Spa which was so relaxing. We also enjoyed two meals at the Secret Garden restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel and spa to others.
The room had a beautiful view and was located in a quiet area so we could relax undisturbed.
Victoria gave us excellent service promptly and efficiently, she ensured that all our needs were met.
All of the staff in Crown plaza Hotel are friendly and helpful, I look forward to my next visit. 😀
The B&B its at walking distance from town centre. It had a shopping centre in front and also a Mcdonalds and some pubs around the area. The room was nice, huge bed and very comfortable, was also very clean. We visited family so was also walking distance to our relations house. Very Nice stay!
It was big enough to afford everyone in our group their own rooms and still be cost effective for us. The bathrooms were shared, but well-kept and stocked. It was a quiet area and we enjoyed a wonderfully restful night after a long couple of days of traveling.
Ronnie was lovely and very knowledgeable, and Irina was excellent and attentive! We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend to anyone we know passing through Dundalk. It was so clean and the house is so well kept!
lovely cosy hotel and fab interior. Tom in the bar was also lovely and has great customer service skills. the lady in the breakfast area was also lovely - eggs Benedict would have been lovely on menu
The breakfast was lovely. The room was ok, the house was lovely and full of curiosities. The owner and his daughter were pleasant and accommodating. Very close to Dundalk town centre.
