Outstanding hosts! We felt comfortable from the first minute on. Lucy and Dan are exceedingly kind and welcoming. Besides many useful tipps on how to spend our time we also got a generous and tasty breakfast. Can only recommend to stay at this BnB!

Lovely area, right on the end of Loch Ness with terrific views. The Canal Locks are great to watch in operation, with all types of boats going through. Good restaurants and nice pub along the canal. Good central place to visit other areas, Inverness, Mallaig and Fort William.

Situated at the end of Loch Ness with a steep set of locks which form the start of the Caledonian Canal, Fort Augustus is a must visit destination if you are in the area. There is a good sized car park and an excellent choice of places to eat. We had an excellent meal at the Chinese restaurant. Lots of opportunities for boat trips along the loch and some nice shops for souvenirs.

We stayed here only one night whilst doing the Great Glen Way although it seemed like a beautiful place and there seemed to be many other things to do in the area. Lots of options for dinner (compared with other towns along the way).

Fort Augustus is a great spot to attractions in the area and easy drive for location upto 2hours away, like Glencoe, Fort William, Glenfinnin Viaduct, Aviemore ski fields, Urquart Castle, Inverness, Skye. Cruising or walk along Loch Ness are brilliant.
The town is gorgeous with many good eateries within walking distance or a short drive away.
Locals are friendly, inviting and engaging. I would live there if I could!

Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really.
Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really. Walked around a bit in the evening when we arrived. Only there for 2 days and used as a base for trips around Loch Ness - Urquart Castle, Culloden Battlefield. Which were all great.
Arrived on a Friday night after 8pm in early November. Only places still serving food were a very expensive Chinese restaurant in a hotel and a place called The Moorings which appeared to be a kebab shop that dabbled in everything else. Unfortunately, they should stick to one thing and really try to nail that. We ordered the worst eat out Pizzas we've ever eaten - worse than home brand supermarket frozen and they were very expensive - £15+ each. Even the local chip shop was closed, at 8.30pm on a Friday! OK, we didn't come for the late night fast food. Bring your own or eat a good lunch.

Much quieter than Inverness and a delightful pretty village with good pubs and recommend The Bothy. Take a short walk to the very bottom of Loch Ness. Also take a drive down the much quieter and superbly more scenic route down the east side of Loch Ness on B862/B852. Fascinating to see the canal locks in the village.
this was quite a strange but wonderful apartment, set in a converted boarding school and Abbey. apartment as well appointed with a substantial lounge kitchen area separate bathroom and comfortable bedroom. There was a beautiful relatively school swimming pool and spa area a window looking out over the highlands. The situation is right at the south-western end of Loch Ness.
It is also right on the Caledonian canal and the sequence of locks which is the main feature of Fort Augustus
Affordable apartment in Hogwarts-style resort; the amenities are wonderful for families with an indoor swimming pool (must pre-book a time), ping-pong, billiards, board games etc and the ability for archery, ax-throwing and knife-throwing right on Loch Ness. The apartment gave us the option to cook our own meals after driving long distances and eating out during our 10-day trip. It is a great launching site to other places in the Highlands and our family really enjoyed it!
Great location in Fort Augustus, walking distance to the Loch, pubs/restaurants. We stayed two nights as part of our Loch Ness 360 Ride. The host Alasdair was very accommodating and knowledgeable on the area. The rooms were extremely comfortable and well designed especially the Jacuzzi room. The breakfast was great and kept us full right through to dinner. I can't fault our stay and look forward to returning in the future.
The original property and abbey are beautiful. The location at the base of Loch Ness is special, though there’s not much going on or available in the adjacent town of Fort Augustus.
Some of the shared facilities are very nice - the pool (for which you need a booking!?), the games room, the giant chess and the outdoor kids playing area.
Quite a treat to get such a very nice place to stay at this price point. The location is the best for the Caledonian Canal area. Off-road parking was a good place to put on a car without worrying. The room was quiet and comfortable. The very modern bathroom nice and refreshing. The host couple are warm, friendly, hard-working hosts.
We stayed in the timber tent which was probably the best option on the site as it has an undercover area for when it rains. Space limited but we were camping and spottlessly clean, as we're the shower / toilet blocks. The site is just 10 mins walk to the Great Glen Way where you get great views of Loch Ness & the mountains beyond.
The apartment was spacious and comfortable for two adults and was well equipped for a week long stay. The cost was very competitive for Fort Augustus but the best thing about the property was the location, which was excellent. Right on top of the canal lock gates and a couple of minutes from the shops and restaurants etc.
The location was ideal right in the heart of Fort Augustus, easy walking distance to everything. The room was very nice and extremely clean and well presented. There is a cafe attached to the hotel for breakfast if you wish to eat there (coffee was very nice!) and the hotel was quiet despite being in a busy location.
This hostel offers excellent private bedrooms. Both the room and the bathroom were spacious, and we had a nice garden outlook. The breakfast was varied and enjoyable. Staff were friendly and the wifi was generally good. Cafes and restaurants were about 10 mins' walk away. There was parking at the lodge.
We had a great time here, 2 night stay. Great location In Fort Augustus close to Loch Ness, Ben Nevis and other local attractions. Phil and Sue are lovely, the complimentary cake was good. The bed is comfortable, it is really warm during the night (loved it), quiet area, amazing views.
Beautiful grounds on Loch Ness with lots of interesting places to explore. The apartment was very clean and nicely decorated. Very comfortable beds, plenty space in wardrobes. The hosts are very caring and welcoming, recommended us some fantastic hikes in the area.
GREAT location to be close to the centre of Fort Augustus and Loch Ness. Decorated in keeping with the highland theme; modern and clean. good virtual communication with hosts on checking in/out and use of facilities. Good space for parking
The resort lies very close to the town center, it was convenient to let the car there and discover Fort Augustus or having a drink at the restaurant. The pod was a first experience for us but after a while we got used to the size.
Great location, beautiful hotel, restaurant was a not-to-miss experience. After walking for 8 days, was a welcome splurge, complete with fast and convenient laundry services.
Great location in quiet and picturesque Fort Augustus, perfect for exploring the Loch Ness area. Clean and comfortable rooms with very modern bathrooms. No complaints!
Historical lobby, grand staircase, light filled room, skylight in bath. Great water pressure. Excellent location- walking distance to locks, town and loch ness.
