Wonderful host! Very kind. Restaurants weren't open so she gave us some of her own food. We were given access to part of her private rooms so we could dry our clothes there better (we had been in the rain all day). Gave helpful advice on the next stage of the Wilderness trail we were hiking.
The place itself is very nice, comfortable, efficiently equipped, everything we needed in a relatively small space. There's also some drinks available at an affordable price (we do love some red wine after a long day of hiking). The beds are all bunk beds though, not a problem for us but some may want to consider this.
Absolutely value for money!

It is a place to connect with nature, you sleep early and wake up with sunshine, nice area to breath, walk, cycle and hike.
I dont recommend this place for people who likes to do party and make noises as the sleep time is 10pm and you are not allowed to make party.

At our arrival there was no check in information available and we were stuck at night figuring out what to do. The following days nobody checked in on us and we had to reach out again with our questions, which remained unanswered. Eventually a filed a complain with booking.com about non-working WiFi, important to us as this was a business trip. A bigger thing is if you like food: the kitchen is rather basic - no oven, and there is no store or bakery or bread service close by, so no fresh bread in the morning. Several smaller issues: no basics in the kitchen like salt or tea & coffee, no shower products and the like. Other smaller things, but things to consider: the parking spot has several small bushes that weren't trimmed and scratched my car quite badly unfortunately. It's just not thought through and owners don't seem to seek feedback or act on it, therefore don't expect much.

The owners were very helpful in adjusting the number of people. The house itself was very nice! We would recommend a light above the table also! The small "shop" was helpful when arriving late at night. The place is far away from everything. If you have no proper transportion then I believe it's hard to reach it. In summertime a bicycle can do the job.
We hiked around the lake and used the maps of our apps. The information center in Rurberg was also a nice place to visit. The woman was very helpful and friendly.
We ate at some restaurants in the surroundings.

Great location for walkers who want an easy stroll.
Great location for walkers who want an easy stroll. Very small town with a convenient ferry that provides many opportunities to explore the area along well-kept paths. More challenging hikes are available in the area, too. The ferry comes in by two pretty good restaurants set up to handle large numbers.

Simmerath is perfectly situated to the National Park of Eifel which give nature lovers all they need to hike and bike. Even a lake/river is in the area with a little 'beach' to bath. The city self offered many stores (tech-clothes-food) to make a stay easier. Other than that, there is not much to do or you have to travel out of Simmerath to, for example, Monchau if you want to visit a city.

Rursee Schilsbachtal is a stunningly serene & beautifully peaceful lakeside location in the wilds of the Eifel. We stayed in one of the handful of sweet little cottage apartments well equipped with kitchenette & shower room, perfect for a countryside retreat. Idyllic spot to be at one with nature, a little stream flows into the lake with an eco sauna, many outside cooking, eating & seating areas. Stock up with groceries & chill out
The room had very comfortable beds, it was very clean and quiet, and it had an amazing view on the lake. The staff was friendly even though they only spoke German we could communicate perfectly, the breakfast was indeed suberb, lots of fresh products, and they made us scrambled eggs on the spot. All the facilities are new, the bathroom was renovated and it had very hot water, all good. Lovely hotel, would visit again for sure.
The location is superb with stunning views across the valley which can be appreciated from the full length windows in the property and from the balcony. It lies in the Eiffel Park with numerous lovely walks on the doorstep.
The apartment is very nicely furnished, modern and very comfortable with excellent facilities. Highly recommended!
There is a good supermarket (Rews) in Simmerath town.
The hotel is in a fantastic location. It is in very close proximity of Eifel National Park. The breakfast at the hotel was amazing and there is a very good restaurant approximately 100-200 meters away. Satellite TV was a bonus because America movies/shows can be watched in the original English version. I requested a frig in my room and it was provided.
Nice people running the place, had some good beers and where very welcoming. the rooms where good for the price, the area is nice and quite and the town and the scenery around the hotel where amazing. I enjoyed the private parking for our motorcycles. Amazing breakfast and I love that it wasn't a buffet so you could just sit down and eat.
- very good breakfast included in the price. We stayed 2 nights and there was even variation from one day to the other, which is something we really appreciate.
- free parking included
- family-owned hotel with really nice dutch owners who give their best to please their hosts
- very comfortable spring-box beds
Good view of the area and lake. The vintage style older rooms are legendary and in an amazing good state (and German style very clean), half of the rooms of the hotel are now rebuild and look very good, other half is planned to be restyled which is good but we will miss the older rooms/bathrooms
Breakfast was very good, a lot of choices and local products and fruits. Possibility to pack lunch for when you are hiking, biking, etc. Free coffee and tea during the day. Very welcoming and friendly host. Location is also excellent, the hiking routes start right in front of the hotel.
Very quiet location. Excellent for hiking hollidays, either straight from the appartment or from Rurberg. For food you should go to Rewe in Simmerath. All nearby cafes where in holliday, so no recommendations there. Appartment was very clean, older building but well maintained.
The appartment was more spacious than expected and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is nicely remote, yet just a few minutes from Rurberg and the impressive lake. Sunrise over the surrounding fields is beautiful and worth getting up early.
Excellent breakfast - fresh bread and sufficient food
Clean and cozy room
Value for money
Family friendly
Able to provide dinner as well when requested
The host is amazing and very friendly
Playground next to the hotel is perfect for younger kids
We liked our room and arriving in time for May Day celebrations was an unexpected cultural treat. Breakfast was WONDERFUL! Facilities were very nice and the Kragemann Team was simply excellent - kind, helpful & friendly. :)
Comfortable hotel at a perfect location for hiking in the Eifel national park. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are spacious. The view from my room was picture worthy in and of itself.
Lovely hotel just by the river. Fabulous location with good choice of eateries nearby. Off-road parking for motorcycles. Excellent selection of breakfast items all nicely presented.
Clean and spacious room. Great location, kind staff.
You can just walk out of the hotel for a great walk into the forest across the water.
The food (dinner) was great.
Nice rooms, good bed, nice breakfast. Great that we could park our motorcycle on the private parking nextdoor.
Nice hos/owner. I can really recommend this hotel!
The Hotel's location is very good. The staff is always doing their best to help if someone asks questions. The kitchen is amazing! Breakfast was ok, as well.
