The Palace Hotel Buxton & Spa, hotel in Tideswell

Situated at the centre of Buxton, The Palace Hotel Buxton & Spa offers a swimming pool and beauty salon. This grand Victorian hotel is about 300 metres from the Buxton Train Station.

The location was perfect for visiting Buxton, which is beautiful. The hotel was much better than we anticipated. We have stayed at Britannia Hotels in the past which have not been too good, but the Palace Hotel was beautiful. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and the bathroom was huge. We only had breakfast in the hotel which had everything you would expect on the self serve buffet, and it was hot. The dining room was lovely, only criticism was, there was no coffee machine, just Nescafé sachets to add boiling water to. All the staff were very pleasant. Special shout out to the young lady in the bar area on Saturday morning. We were having a rest on the setters as my husband was a bit under the weather. She was very kind and offered us a drink, and had a little chat with us. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Little John Hotel, hotel in Tideswell

In the centre of Hathersage, The Little John Hotel provides bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation in Derbyshire’s Peak District.

Exceptionally dog friendly accomodation, our three dogs were allowed in the bar/restaurant in the evening and in the morning for the excellent buffet style full English breakfast. The room was clean and spacious, plenty of room for dog beds without tripping over them in the dark! All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Old Hall Hotel, hotel in Tideswell

In the centre of picturesque Buxton, in the heart of the beautiful Peak District, the Old Hall Hotel features a traditional restaurant, free Wi-Fi and spacious rooms with period features.

The room and bathroom had clearly been recently refurbished and was excellent with double aspect windows. It just needed blackout blinds as the white Venetian blinds did not cut out the early morning sunlight. The location was excellent as we were there for a performance at the Opera House.

Tideswell is in a great location within the Peak District. The village seems to be a thriving community and there are plenty of walks from it without needing to jump in the car. It's a 20 minute drive to Chatsworth and same or less to Castleton.

Tideswell is a convenient village for visiting Buxton, Bakewell and the Monsal trail in the Peak District. It has 3 pubs within the village that all serve food, plus an Italien restaurant, a fish and chip shop and a local convenience store. The eateries get very busy in the evening so it's probably best to pre book. There are plenty of pubs in surrounding villages. You probably need a car to get there, we did not use public transport. There is a lovely church known as the Cathedral of the Peaks.

Possibly blown away by the friendliness of the place. I was expecting it to be friendly but it exceeded my expectations. Cathedral of the west worth a vist. I recommend a full breakfast from nearby cafes and a central location for many key Peak district sites.

A sensational place in the Peak District, Tideswell is a lovely village and you're close to many walks and to Buxton. The rooms are brilliant and obviously designed by someone who has stayed in a lot of hotels. Everything is provided, treats in the fridge and in the bathroom, wonderful comfortable bed! Great staff who were so welcoming and seemed to go the extra mile. An amazing, filling and high quality breakfast in the mornings. The bar and restaurant are top notch. My friends and I were all impressed and would happily return.

Location and cottage were both superb, in the heart of the village with surrounding walking routes/Bakewell only a short drive away. Lovely country pubs and essential amenities all within walking distance. Designated parking directly opposite the cottage was fab and enough space to accommodate the dog too. The log burner was an additional touch for those chilly evenings. Would definitely stay here again!

The nicely decorated room was above a friendly, lively pub. The bed was comfortable and we paid for the breakfast, which was well worth it and very tasty. It’s in a great spot for all Tideswell and the surrounding area has to offer. Dogs are very welcome here and we will definitely be staying again.

Due to its corner plot, the cottage has huge rooms - plenty of space for us all. The house was well equipped. Very clean. The location was excellent - very easy to walk to a number of cafes/pubs, and Tideswell is really central to get to other towns/walks. We would happily stay here again.
