Friendly helpful staff, clean, comfortable. Generally good quality everything. I like that your room isn't made up unless you want it to be. Too many hotels just go in every day regardless. Sometimes in England motorcycle riders are treated like second class citizens. Not here. Everyone is equal. No daft snobbery

Douglas seems to have everything! The restaurants are many and varied and range from the simple to sophisticated. There are bus services everywhere, and taxis arrive promptly. Shopping is easy, and all the services I needed were centrally located. The Queen scallops are worth a detour.

Beautiful, peaceful town.
Beautiful, peaceful town. People were very kind and always willing to help, ie - with directions, etc.
Just to add on about The Rutland Hotel - the young man at Reception, Kyle I think his name was, ever so helpful and kind. Nothing was a problem for him to assist with. Cannot remember the names of the other staff members. At breakfast, the staff in there were always willing to help. The night reception staff one night, did get us a drink from the bar when we got back in the evening and found the bar shut. He helped us and put it on our hotel bill. That was really so appreciated by myself and my friend Busi. We probably would stay at this hotel again, unless it’s just about trying the other ones. Overall, it is not a bad hotel at all😊

Douglas and The Isle of Man are well worth a visit.
Douglas and The Isle of Man are well worth a visit. There is so much to see and the transport options to get round the island are varied and interesting. The vintage trains are all with a visit - check timetables as some are limited and finish around 4-5pm. Plan a visit to the Tynwald - the oldest continuous parliament in the world - visits are only on Fridays and Mondays - although there is a public gallery for sittings which happen on some Tuesdays. The Manx Musuem is also worth a visit too.

I was in Douglas for business.
I was in Douglas for business. I spent an afternoon walking the town and was quickly bored.
I used the cinema one evening. The girls at reception were charming and the cinema had a nice feel to it.
What can I say ….. We were greeted by the owner Kim, what a lovely genuine lady that couldn’t do enough for us, we requested rooms close together as we where travelling with parents which resulted in Kim upgrading one of our rooms to accommodate this request👍🏼
The accommodation was right next to the electric tram and horse tram so easy to explore the wonderful Isle of Man 👍🏼
I don’t normally write reviews unless unhappy however this hotel is a little gem and I would defiantly recommend 😃
I needed a hotel room for an overnight stay in the centre of Douglas, and the Empress was perfect - central location, a good room rate, good breakfast, good Wi-Fi, decent bed. Compared to other hotels in Douglas, which I stayed in over the course of the last ten years, it really holds it own. And since I had a nice and roomy room with sea view, and high above the Douglas Promenade, it was a very pleasant stay.
Staff are so nice and helpful. Fabulous breakfast. Nice large, comfortable rooms. Nice bar. Minutes from the beach front. Lovely 10mins walk along the front to the centre of Douglas. 10 mins in the other direction to the electric train service to Laxey, and Ramsey. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Great value and I will absolutely return here next time I am on the Isle of Man.
Very friendly and helpful staff from reception and all other departments. Scenic and quiet location. The veiws from the breakfast/coffee lounge were stuning. The breakfast buffet was mainly very good with a good selection of hot and cold food. A nice fresh new feel to the hotel. Possibly the nicest on the Island. Lovely golf course which would have played if had time.
The location is great for getting anywhere on the island. There’s bus stops literally right outside the hotel, the electric tram is only 5 minutes walk away and the main town of Douglas is a very pleasant 15 minute walk along the promenade. Plenty of breakfast provided including the local Manx kippers!
Perfect hostel on the Isle of Man. All the facilities are new. Beds are comfortable. The bathroom is very functional. The place offers access to a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area.
Location is just 5 minutes walk from the city centre of Douglas and bus station.
Great value for money!
The hotel was amazing. It was clean, tidy and welcoming. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, perfect way to start my days out. Acky the barman was friendly and always on hand to help, in and out of the bar. Definitely will be my first choice when revisiting the isle of man.
The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect. The view across the promenade to the sea was beautiful so bar and restaurant meals were served with a lovely view. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The staff friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to others.
Ravenscliffe Lodge is an exceptional holiday stay. The premises are very comfortable and spacious. There are delightful views across Douglas bay. Our hosts were welcoming and attentive. It is an ideal base for visiting the Isle of Man and close to the ferry terminal.
Beautiful hotel, the breakfast was amazing with stunning views as you eat! The spa was perfect and a great place to relax! The lady on reception was very helpful! This is the only place I will stop when I come back to the Isle of Man!
Location is good. Most of the seafront in Douglas is under constuction. Bed was excellent, the curtains did not block out much light. No aircon which was expected but the room cooled off nicely. Ken and the other staff were great.
Totally Superb great value for money very clean everywhere . The room was very comfortable superb breakfast . Scott is a gentleman very polite , helpful he does the hotel proud ! We will definitely return .
